ngala kwesili — "Pride Within" — is a celebration of an inner dignity that does not ask for permission. The works in this exhibition present figures whose pride is not performed for an audience, but rooted in a deep, ancestral knowledge of self.
Rendered in REWA's signature figurative style — bold colour fields, Igbo cultural iconography, and an unflinching directness of gaze — these paintings ask the viewer to sit with the question: what does it mean to truly see yourself?
